I am a commissioned portrait artist but this series is mostly figure studies. As an impressionist it is more important to me to represent these figures as a reference within a landscape that offers scale to the total composition. Families, lovers, and lone figures are depicted in the course of some activity within the larger picture. Their body language is the narrative of each illustrative painting.
